F_RMlab

a student-led platform for computational design

F_RMlab is an incubator for computational design and fabrication, meant to promote digital literacy and computational discourse at the University of Waterloo School of Architecture. F_RMlab supports students in realizing their projects from design, to prototype, to real life application and business growth, and is structured on a peer-to-peer self-assembled platform. With interests in digital design and physical computation, grads at F_RMlab are deeply invested in research focused on responsive environments, information processing and material systems, to discover new dynamic relationships between people and their surroundings.

Founded in 2012, I was one of its collective group of founding members, leading its startup, marketing and development. It continues to this day as a growing network of young thinkers and makers who seek to make a change in the world.
